The Mckinney Law Group

Community Involvement September 2016

The McKinney Law Group is dedicated to giving back to the community.

EACH MONTH OUR TEAM PARTICIPATES IN, SUPPORTS, AND CONTRIBUTES TO A WIDE RANGE OF LOCAL CAUSES.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS FROM September.

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY TERESA O. PRESCOTT HAS BEGUN TO WORK ON A SERIES OF INFORMATIVE SHORT VIDEOS.

The series, which is one of several The McKinney Law Group is currently working on, is titled Family Law Over Coffee. Each series will focus on a different area of Family Law and will aim at answering common questions with easy to understand answers. The videos will focus on matters in Family Law that the team at The McKinney Law Group encounters on a regular basis.

This month, Mrs. Teresa O. Prescott attended the Shattering Barriers Annual Dinner Celebration.

All proceeds from the dinner were donated directly to the MacDonald Training Center to support their various programs and initiatives.

The MacDonald Training Center’s goal is to empower people with disabilities to lead the lives they choose.

They do this by shattering barriers to independence that have traditionally kept people with disabilities from being valued and contributing members of our communities.

Their innovative life and job skills training curriculum, community based residential supports, and competitive employment placement services are designed to enhance independence by reducing reliance on government funding for the individuals they are privileged to serve, as well as their organization.

Mrs. Prescott was invited by Stetson University Professor Peter Lake to speak to a group of students currently Studying Law.

She gave the students valuable insight on the important aspects of practicing law when they graduate. Some of the topics included about the pit falls of malpractice, managing client expectations, counseling clients, managing expectations, and maintaining the relationship between the business and legal components of a law practice.
